Parents Sue South Carolina Institutions for Subjecting Intersex Child to Non-Medically Necessary Surgery

This is historic.

This is hugggggggge.

I've written about this case and its impacts on intersex activism over here at Autostraddle.

  1. Just want to say, I love your blog and think your writing is terrific.

  2. Thank you so, so much, Pam. I really appreciate hearing this from you.

I wish you nothing but the best in your upcoming court case, and offer you, your husband, and M.C. my full support. Thank you for taking this case on to ensure that other children don't have to live with the effects of medicalization. It's so hard to come to terms with this stuff, and it gives me hope that this case will bring us that much closer to ending this forever.

    Seriously, thank you so much.

  3. Reading "It's Not Anecdotal" was really helpful to us at a time of much anxiety. We thank you for that.

  4. Thank you. I have felt conflicted about publishing something so deeply personal - especially since it focuses on feelings of abuse - and have wondered if it might trigger people unnecessarily, and was therefore going to help others. I am so glad that it helped you. <3

If there are ways that I can help in the future, please do not hesitate to let me know.

  5. I think the law should take a step ahead medicine! Medical institutions should not be allowed certain practices like what intersex babies have been subjected to for decades. It has to stop and the law must step in!
